She’s a survivor.
Five-year old Daisy Merrick is the daughter of Pastor Britt Merrick (son of surfboard shaper Al Merrick, and pastor of SoCal church Reality Carpinteria). I had the pleasure of meeting Pastor Britt, through our mutual friend Kenny Luck, years back when Britt taught at my old church’s men’s retreat. He’s a solid dude—a humble servant with a huge faith in a big God.
A couple months back, I asked you join me in praying for Daisy. I shared a link to the heart-wrenching sermon Pastor Britt preached after finding out about his baby girl Daisy’s cancer. His heart was overwhelmed. And in the midst of the storm, with gospel-saturated faith in a wonderful Savior, he still held fast and honored a big God.
In his new book Big God, Britt Merrick writes:
“What do you do as a Christian when the doctor tells you that your five-year-old has cancer? How do you deal with that? If you’re a Christian, your mind goes to Jesus.” (p.18)
And here we are seven months later—after intense chemo therapy and cancer treatments—to celebrate the remission of Daisy Merrick’s cancer.
Watch this 10-minute video to the end. It will wreck you!
God is good.
Britt Merrick is also the author of Big God. It’s legit; I highly recommend it.

Definitely cried.
Congratulations to Daisy and your whole family for completion of chemo. Praise God for Healing! Always thankful that I had cancer and chemo and not one of my children. Your faith is a blessing.
They found another tumor, and it’s quite large. Please continue to pray for Daisy and the entire Merrick family.
Thanks Stephanie. We are praying for her right now!
