Pray for Iran
From Iran 30′s website: “News from Iran dominates our headlines, but behind the scenes God is building His church. Thirty years of Islamic revolution have made Iranians the most open Muslim people in the world to Christ. And it is only the Gospel that can bring peace to Iranians and the whole Middle East. But for the Gospel to be preached with power there must be prayer. With short easy to read prayer topics, Iran 30 will help you play your part in proclaiming Christ to Iranians.” (HT: JH)
Worship is the core of who we are
Mark Driscoll answers the question ‘What is worship?’: “Indeed, worship is not merely an aspect of our being, but the essence of our being as God’s image-bearers. As a result, all of life is ceaseless worship. Practically, this means that while worship does include corporate church meetings, singing songs, and liturgical forms, it is not limited by these things, defined solely as these things, or expressed only in these things because worship never stops. Rather, we are continually giving ourselves away or pouring ourselves out for a person, cause, experience, achievement, or status. Sadly, as the doctrine of the fall reveals, much of how we pour ourselves out and what we pour ourselves into in worship is someone or something other than the Trinitarian Creator God.”
Michael Horton’s Systematic Theology
I just ordered a copy. You should too.
Justin Taylor: “Here’s the good news: Michael Horton’s long-awaited systematic theology has now been published. Here’s the bad news (well, at one level): Zondervan is already sold out of it and the book is heading back to the printers.”
Saying what you believe is clearer than saying ‘Calvinist’
John Piper writes: “We are Christians. Radical, full-blooded, Bible-saturated, Christ-exalting, God-centered, mission-advancing, soul-winning, church-loving, holiness-pursing, sovereignty-savoring, grace-besotted, broken-hearted, happy followers of the omnipotent, crucified Christ. At least that’s our imperfect commitment.”

The Gospel Should Daily Affect How You Live
Nathan W. Bingham writes: “It was not too long ago that I was talking with a Christian who was shocked at my suggestion that the Gospel was vital for Christians. Their basic premise was the Gospel was for non-Christians, and once a person embraced Jesus we needed to get on with telling them what to do and how to live, otherwise they’d fall into sin and leave the church.” Bingham explains why this is wrong.
