Introducing the New Website

Written by on January 1, 2011 in The Gospel for OC News - 14 Comments

As you surely have noticed, The Gospel for OC has undergone a bit of a makeover. If you tried to visit the website over the last week, you were interrupted by this adorable graphic. Well, wait no longer!

In addition to a cleaner design and a more user-friendly interface, the biggest changes to thegospelforoc.com have been “behind the scenes” (i.e., the blog is much easier to administer). However, there are a few new items I need to point out:

Threaded comments

You asked, and we listened. Back by popular demand, our new blogging platform allows threaded comments. This means you can leave a comment on a comment on a comment. With a threaded commenting system, it is easier to connect and interact with blog authors and other readers.

The Archives

The Gospel for OC Archives is an easy-to-navigate page that allows you to view past blog posts by either category or date published.

And introducing…

The Gospel for OC | Events

We are excited to announce our first annual conference! More details to come. Stay tuned.

The Gospel for OC: NETWORK

The Gospel for OC: NETWORK is a network of local churches, pastors, ministry leaders, and not-for-profit organizations that work together to promote gospel-centered ministry throughout Orange County. The seed for this network was planted months ago when pastors and church elders from several different churches expressed a burning desire to meet and pray together.

I will write more on the network over the next week. Very exciting things happening this year! But for now, I need to get some sabbath rest. God bless, enjoy the new website, and let us know if you come across any problems or snags.

A special thank you to the contributors and volunteers who lent their time and expertise to help build the new website. We are grateful for you!

Thanks, John! I had a great team to help with customizations. Furthermore, the Standard Theme forums were extremely helpful and your price-for-value could not be beat! I’ll be recommending the theme to our church and, undoubtedly, others as well!
